The video below is a short edit of our 8 day passage to Senegal. It was quite varied with light winds for the first half and quite strong winds for the 2nd. We set off with another boat, Blue Velvet, owned by Nicky and Reg. Amazingly, after 8 days at sea we arrived with a few hours of one another and for most of the passage we could see them. This was not intentional, the two boats we just very well matched.

Approaching Dakar was a little stressful since we were amid the shipping lanes and there are a lot of fishing boats off the coast. Thankfully however, it was daylight when we approached the coast and navigated to the anchorage.
